10:1 is the mechanical advantage between the trigger and the rod. It is the lightest ratio in this line, matched to thin caulk and a long day rather than to driving adhesive.

A rubber-over-moulded trigger and handle. The claim on this gun is comfort over a long day, not raw force, and that is what the grip is for.
EZ Thrust mechanism
The drive that moves the rod with less effort per pull. Fewer pulls per cartridge is the whole point of it.
Drip-free hex rod
Let go and the rod releases, so pressure in the cartridge drops instead of sitting there pushing. That is what stops a thin caulk running on.

Octogun red. The gun backs the pressure off for you.
There are two kinds of caulk gun in this line and the split is technical, not a price tier. Which one you want is decided by how thick the material is, so we colour coded it. Red runs the thinner caulks. Blue runs the thick ones.
Why this one
Let go of the trigger and the rod releases, so the pressure inside the cartridge drops instead of sitting there pushing. On a thinner caulk that is the difference between a clean stop and a bead that keeps running after you have moved on. Thin material flows on its own. The gun's job is to stop asking it to.
Thick material is the other case. It barely moves without real force, so a gun that spends part of its stroke relieving pressure gives away the thrust you wanted in the joint. That is the blue side, where the 360-DT switches up to 26:1.

How the drip-free rod works
Let go of the trigger and the rod lets go with it. The bead stops when you stop.
The cartridge does not keep oozing between pulls, so the joint stays clean and you get the whole tube.
If you have only used ratchet guns, that release can feel like the rod has come loose. It has not. That is the drip-free mechanism doing its job.
If you want a rod that holds its pressure until you flip it, that is a ratchet gun. Our 188 and 307 both work that way.
Where It Is The Wrong Gun
A gun that is wrong for the material fights you the whole way down the joint. These are the jobs to reach for something else.
- Not for thick material. Window & Door wants sustained thrust, and a mechanism that spends part of its stroke relieving pressure is giving that thrust away
- Not a dual-ratio gun. There is one thrust setting, and at 10:1 it is the lightest in the line
- Not for sausage packs or bulk. This is a 10 oz cartridge frame

I really like the newborn 930-gtd caulking gun. It’s easy to use, comfortable to hold, and makes applying caulk much smoother and more controlled. I especially like that it has a drip free design, which helps keep the application cleaner and less messy. The octogun is a whole new caulking gun for sure. It has great response to the trigger, it doesn't allow the material to continue coming out after you've stopped pressing the trigger. I love that you can just grab the scraper and use it and snap it back on so you dont misplace it. It has the typical piercing pin and xutter like all the other guns in the market but this is way more heavy duty. Easy load and unload of caulking tubes makes it a great arsenal in you tool box. I finally threw away the 25 year old gun.

Overall its a good and well designed product. The packaging was neat however it needed some packing material to keep the caulk gun stable and protected within the box. Nice thick steel with durable plastic attachments. Its all the tools you need to complete a caulking job. I would recommend this product.

The Octogun did its job! It works as it should with ease. It cuts the top of the tube and the caulk came out smooth. The piece of board has not moved. This was my first time using a caulking, gun and it worked much better than I anticipated. The finishers all looked really good and it was easy to remove the old and install the new. I have used it twice since my initial application and I will continue to use this for my home projects.

The build of the Octogun 930-GTD is quite nice. Sturdy, functional, and powerful. The instructions are easy to follow. A couple of small issues. The plastic scraper didn't get all of the old caulk off. Had to get the rest off with a razor blade. The smoothing square was okay. But I had to use a finger to smooth it the rest of the way. I am very particular with a nicely finished area. The caulk plug will be good to save unused product for my next project.

The product was super user friendly took almost zero effort to put together and use. Was ready to use out of the box. The tool to remove old sealant wasn't as useful which may be due to sealant used prior. The edger came in clutch without having to get my hands dirty!! The stopper ws also great as it kept the product fresh for next use. All materials were very well made and very durable. Was overall a great product.

I used this caulk gun to replace the caulk between my back splash and kitchen counter. I found the added tools that are attached to be very helpful, so you don’t forget any tools once you have started the project. The octogun has pretty good control, and does not drip, as the product advertises. The downsides are that it is heavy and bulky, so not great for tight corners as I did not find I had as much control. I also found there to be a lack of instructions, as it was difficult to get the caulk out of the gun when finished and I couldn’t find any instructions online on how to do so.

This caulking gun is solid and easy to use. It has comfortable grip, feels durable and gives good control when applying caulk. The pressure smooth which helps make the application less messy. A useful tool to have around repairs and home improvement projects
