Two Thrust Ratios. One Switch.

Dual Thrust 12:1 / 26:1

Dual thrust 12:1 and 26:1 · Duracore · Newborn blue

The Newborn 360-DT Dual-Thrust Caulking Gun is a versatile professional-grade tool designed to handle a wide range of materials with precision. Featuring a dual thrust ratio switch (12:1 and 26:1), it lets you adjust force to match the material.

The switch changes the thrust ratio, not the mechanism. 12:1 is the controlled setting for thin caulk. 26:1 more than doubles the force at the rod for material that will not move on its own.

What You Are Actually Buying

Three things do the work on this gun. Everything else on the frame is there to support them.

Pillar one

Two ratios, one frame

12:1 when you want control in a thin caulk, 26:1 when you need force in an adhesive. You are not carrying two guns to cover the line.

Pillar two

Starburst release plate

The plate that grips the rod. It is the part that has to hold under 26:1, and it is listed on this gun's record where the red guns list a drip-free mechanism instead.

Pillar three

Heat-treated drive rod

A hex rod that will not round off under the high ratio. This is the Duracore frame, and the rod is where that shows.

Newborn blue. You choose how hard the gun pushes.

There are two kinds of caulk gun in this line and the split is technical, not a price tier. Which one you want is decided by how thick the material is, so we colour coded it. Red runs the thinner caulks. Blue runs the thick ones.

Why this one

Thick material does not run on its own. It barely moves without real force behind it, and 26:1 is more than twice the mechanical advantage the red guns give you. That is the setting for an adhesive, a polyurethane or anything that holds its shape in the tube.

Thin material is the other case, and this is the one gun that covers it too. Drop the switch to 12:1 and you have the same ratio as the 208D, in a heavier frame.

And the thin caulks too, with the ratio dropped to 12:1.

Where It Is The Wrong Gun

A gun that is wrong for the material fights you the whole way down the joint. These are the jobs to reach for something else.

  • Not the cheapest way to run thin caulk. If that is all you do, the 930-GTD or the 208D is the gun
  • Not for sausage packs or bulk. This is a 10 oz cartridge frame
  • Not a powered gun. Both ratios are manual

The Three Guns

Every gun in this line falls on one side of the colour code, except the last one, which sits on both.
